Jul 20, 2008 · Last thing, if I run a speedtest to say speedtest.net over the MiFi through the VPN, it is ALWAYS, 2Mbps x 800Kbps, so not sure whats going on there. What we can see in the results above is that the very first address on the path from the VPN client to the target is 172.27.232.1. That is the internal VPN client subnet IP address of my OpenVPN Access Server itself. It uses port 23, so I refer to it as a telnet session. I tried changing the timeout parameter in the SERVICE tab for TELNET , but it didn't have any effect. It seems strange to me that the firewall would use this session parameter when the traffic never touches a policy statement (traffic is directed over the VPN via a route statement).
